what did you study? how did you choose?
« on: August 31, 2008, 11:55:08 AM »
well, i have myself a bit of a dilemna.

12 months ago i enrolled to study cognitive behaviour therapy, then i backed out two weeks into the course.

i regretted doing that and i swore that i would not waste this year without doing something to further my educaation.

this year i have enrolled on a certificate in cognitive behaviour therapy, and i was intending to make my counselling diploma a degree.

now i have changed my mind again but i am so uncertain what to do. i am concerned about doing too much, but i want to be doing enough.

i am still going to do the sertificate in cognitive behaviour therapy but i have not completed my enrollment for the final year of counselling degree.

i am wondering what other poeple here studied and how they came to make those choices. was it tough making choices and do you have any regrets about your education?

Unfortunately, here, a lot of our decisions in that way are moderated by what we can do to support ourselves.  Our "area" is rarely the primary concern.  Sad isn't it?

it is sad that people are prevented from studying due to factors other than their ability to study.

we also have limits to the amount of support we receive to study. the position i am in now i will have to pay for all my course and support myself through my studies. this is one reason why i have not enrolled for both of the course that i wanted to do.

in an ideal society the only obstacle to studying would be the students ability to study, we would soon have a society with very highly intelligence.

i do regret that i did not study harder when i was younger although i did learn a lot in other ways.
