So do you have any evidence for all this pseudo-spiritual bullshit you spout?

Religion, until proven otherwise, is nonsense.

Nothing can be proven, it can only be not yet refuted.

Idiocy?  Science, even quantum science, is the product of mankind's attempt to create a quantitative/definitive/comprehensive intellectual map of physical reality, not to be confused with reality itself.  Intellect is incapable of perceiving reality directly so it believes that the universe is filled with an apparently random mishmash of innumerable objects bouncing off of each other that it wants/needs to believe are the product of and under the benevolent control of the mother of all objects, god.      Science has its place on the gross physical plane, within the confines of duality.  Empirical proof is the universal gold standard for verifying the accuracy of our map (abstract) of physical reality, but neither Einstein nor any other credible renowned physicist that I'm aware of believe(d) that a link between science and spirituality was even possible, much less plausible.  They were smart/wise enough to understand/intuit that most of reality, including God, simply can't be mapped.  I don't know whether any of them knew that we humans are inherently capable of directly perceiving all of reality, beyond any conception of any need to prove anything.

Science is king.  Long live the king.  Idiocy indeed!

You're a religious nut or you're an anti-religious nut who doesn't understand the most basic fundamentals of science. How is that foot tasting?

in my opinion, closed minded and open minded is a matter of upbringing.

there is nothing set in someones "DNA" to say that they are close minded or open minded by default. Its someone's experiences in life, what they are exposed to and the environment they find themselves in that makes all the difference.

The things that people say and your experiences in life all affect your subconscious mental programming. They influence the self concept and the ideas of self worth, self esteem and the subconscious images which one plays in their mind.

The only way, in my opinion, that someone can genuinely move from a closed to an open minded situation is through constant and manual will to improve. The more you push and want to improve in life, the more opportunity you have to change your life programming.

any other way won't work

and btw, this isn't a comment on anyone's personality - personality is determined by social programming and life experience and nothing else. so just because a "close minded" person might act arrogant, selfish etc doesn't mean that genuinely sums up the person deep on the inside. changing their programming can change that experience into something more positive and er...open minded.

just my opinion :)

I know this is an old post but as it popped up on top I thought I'd add to it.
OPENNESS TO EXPERIENCE as described in the question is ONE OF THE FIVE MAJOR RECOGNISED
PERSONALITY TRAITS. This information is widely known by those in psychology, politics, media etc.
This knowledge used in pursuading the eloctorate in politics ie: those high openness are more likely to vote liberal those closed will vote conservatives. New York has a high - high openness population - these gravitate towards creativity, arts etc and those closed I recall in the us are concentrated in the deep south. So this trait also relevant to demographs and many other things too.
Although most people are middle of the range few score extremely high or extremely low. I'm one of those extremely high and I tend to question everything.

Here is the wikipedia entry.

Here is the test one can do themselves
