What is your preference?Netbook or laptop?
« on: June 01, 2009, 03:32:06 PM »
Which do you prefer netbook or laptop? Which one do you have? I have a laptop. Only recently I was thinking of getting a netbook as well(they were having a promotion for a very low price for a few units!)

i have  a netbook it is ideal for me. before i got my netbook  i had an ibm thinkpad. which was the smallest notebook i could get at the time for the money i had. i have a desktop pc for all my heavy duty processes so i dont need massive spec on my n-book. my net book is perfect for me to sit comfortably, browse the web and write.

if you already have a desktop and you want a second puter for mobility i would recommend a net book over a laptop everyday.
And the  LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as  one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

too late, i already have a laptop...it is quite heavy for me! well, i am still thinking about getting a netbook...the price during the promotion was around $170. i am going to wait for the next one....

btw, what brand did you buy?how long can you look at the screen without getting eye pain? what i mean is that the screen is rather small, isn 't it?don 't you feel eye strain?

I've got a cute little pink Samsung netbook - hasn't hurt my eyes so far, but perhaps I just don't notice. :P
Pros: Small, lightweight, good battery life, low heat output, relatively inexpensive

Cons: No internal disk drive, small mouse, no word processor (you can download one online, but you might not get the fonts you're used to), excessive scrolling sometimes required to view large (tall) pages

For me, it's well worth it. :D

I like my laptop but a dual screened desktop is the best.

I have a laptop, the slight increase in size is well worth the added performance and larger screen. I have no need for something too small.

I am planning to get a new laptop. I am sure it will help me to grow with my professional abilities.
              - I am planning to get Dell Studio 17
              - Currently, my budget is $850. Can anyone suggest more poweful laptop in my budget?
              - Notebooks cannot be much powerful to handle heavy data transactions as i think, Is processing capability more in notebooks like Duo Core Processors?

Thanks for your feedback. I will check out the Samsung baby as well before I decide to buy a netbook.

I am using Dell Inspiron 15. It is for daily use. If I am not mistaken, Dell Studio also gives you better home entertainment and creative features. Check out HP or Dell during online promotion periods for better deals. Duo Core Processors are better in terms of processing capability compared to Dual Core or others. I am not sure if it is the best right now. There could be others.
