if you were reborn as an animal?
« on: September 10, 2008, 10:38:53 AM »
if you were to be reborn and you could choose an animal to be reborn as what would you choose and why would you want to be that animal?

And the  LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as  one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

You know, I used to love this question.  I always chose a horse or a lionness.  But when I think of it, a horse is purely prey animal an instinct to escape.  A lionness, although athletic and wonderful with predatory skills, is still prone to being stuck in a pride where she and the other ladies are led by whatever lion wins the fight.  ugh.  Neither are very appealing.

I guess maybe I could choose to be a bird.  A falcon, not something small and vulnerable to much attack.  A falcon is quick and powerful with a good eye for prey.  Yep, that's what I'd be!

i cannot decide, i am so happy as a human that i would not want to be anything else. maybe something that lives in the sea like a whale. i think that the whale must have a lot of freedom and not much to worry about in terms of predators etc.

i have to say that this is so obviously my personality. the desire for freedom, to be able to float about at will in vast areas of natural beauty and to have nothing that can disturb my equilibrium.

do you see anything of your personality on your choices cecile?

I like your description of your choice relating to your personality, Stan.

As for me, I think the reason I loved to choose the horse is because of the freedom to run.  I love just getting out by myself, with no one beside me.  The lioness always displayed the world's best mom to me.  I think that's something I always saw myself being (not the world's best, but a good strong mom nonetheless).

As for the falcon, I think just being away from predator's reach and able to fend for myself.  I like independence.  I hate being tied down.  I wish I had wings.

What a therapeutic topic.  Thanks for this!

I'd love to be a leopard gecko. Except then I'd never get to see the sun. Maybe a big monitor lizard.
Sight is important to me.
