Son Adjusting to Loss of Father
« on: June 02, 2008, 07:06:54 PM »
My son turned into an alien when his father died.  I took my son to the professionals and specialists and after a while, my son said NO, he is not listening to THEM.

OMG,  my heart was broke and my star athlete went on the dark path.  It was like turning on a switch.
imagine that.

Its not his fault. I cannot imagine my life without my dad. Although there has been times when i have been into a tussle with him and probably hit back at him with strong words. Still, cannot imagine a life without him being a part of it. Hope he gets back into his feet again. And i know he will. Not that he has to But he will have that yearn to fulfill the dreams of his father.

Father's are so important for children that only child can understand...not you or any other member fo family can judge his feeling which he is dealing with after his father death.A father-son relationship is all about a boy emulating his father. In order for this to be an effective relationship, a father must be a good role model to his son. This does not mean perfection. No one is perfect, and no one is expected to be right all the time. In fact, when a father makes a mistake, it is a good opportunity to show his son how to handle errors and wrongdoings. Point blank...we all learn all the time.
