« on: July 28, 2010, 11:27:52 AM »
Does anyone know how to rid oneself of obsessive thinking??  My relationship with
my in-laws has ended completely but I cannot seem to stop obsessing about it.
Anyone have any help??

I would try to keeping a journal. Write down all your thoughts and try to figure out why you are thinking those things. I feel that obsessive thinking has to do with thinking so much about the subject that it interferes with everyday life. So, if that's going on, you might need to find some type of help. If not friend-wise, then professional-wise.

Hey, Gwennie.
The only mistake it seems that you're making is obsessing about your obsession.
It's normal to keep thinking about somebody after something ends.
Those thoughts may go away by themselves soon but probably you will every once in a while still recall something.
As long as you don't feel guilt about anything connected with the situation, you're in the clear.
Take care
