GAD roadblocks seem to be getting in the way of recovery
« on: July 20, 2010, 03:56:32 PM »
After being involved with a strict tech school, I gradually developed GAD.  I eventually got involved with Catholic Fundamentalism due to some fear, which only made my anxiety gradually get worse that I discovered that I had GAD.  I went through treatments with the "Linden Method".  The method suggested that I seek help if there are roadblocks still keeping me anxious

The problem now seems to be that everytime something unpleasant happens, I endure an abrupt change, get into a stressful situation or get angry, I return to a state of anxiety(disturbing thoughts, nervousness, ect.)
abrupt change: getting ready to go on a vacation, starting a new class at school, starting a new semester.
Unpleasant situation: friend, relative or pet gets sick, someone you know dies, friend moves away, get rejected, your computer breaks down.
Stressful situation: Demanding class, overbearing friends or family, lots of work to do, ect.
I know that these situations are inevitable, but are there ways to be able to keep yourself on the road to recovery if this stuff does happen.

yes.

try to read either mind over mood by christine padesky, or the feeling good handbook by dr burns.
And the  LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as  one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
