Difference between psychpathy and pseudopsychopathy?
« on: March 10, 2010, 07:40:02 AM »
What's the difference between psychopathy and pseudopsychopathy? Or depression and pseudodepression?

Can you give me examples of each?

Thanks!

The prefix pseudo means fake or sham.

But I've heard it used in reference to people with frontal lobe injuries, and that's obviously not faked.

I'm not talking about pseudopsychology, am I? I'm talking about pseudopsychopathology, which seems to be a personality type caused by brain injury.

So, can you give me an examples of it, to compare and contrast with true psychopathology.

It seems that pseudopsychopathology refers to any psychopathology caused by damage to the frontal lobe, as opposed to psychopathology caused by other sources (chemical imbalances, etc)
