Realizations as a Psychology student
« on: October 10, 2009, 01:50:09 PM »
Since I started studying psychology I’ve realized 3 things:
1-   I have to evaluate my own mental health before I do society’s or anyone else’s.
2-   I can’t save the world. I can only help those who want help.
3-   I shouldn’t generalize diagnostics, every mind has its own way of functioning.

These are very personal realizations, I don’t mean to start a discussion, just to share and see if anyone else out there has had similar or different realizations.

1.  There is no such thing as normal, we're all crazy
2.  The term "mental illness" is a misnomer.  It's not an illness, just a pattern of behavior.
3.  You can't save the world, but you sure as hell can change it.
