Goodbye
« on: June 15, 2009, 11:34:43 PM »
Dearly large, today's a day for goodbyes.  I remember the tingly-tongued lad, Gary, as we called him, in the way.  And now, well now, he's but a memory, a memory.  Living somewhere in the lap of the Big One.  Gary, wherever you are, always know that there is a hand above your uncle, finely dealt for you.  Any regret?  Anyone?  Any regret at all?  Any...?  Anything at all?

Phil is right.  "The only way to stop your addictions is to give yourself to Christ."  I.E., become a spiritual person.  Give it to God.  Want 'water'?  Give that "'water'?" to God.
Love is the Law, love under will.

God is all of it.  ALL is good=God.  Everything. Addictions?  Memories?  They merely supplant what you are seeking.

How much joy you experience is contingent upon how much the experience takes away of your Ego; I.E., removes said Ego.

Letting go is all much as giving or taking.
There is no difference.

Yesterday,
All my troubles seemed so far away,
Now it looks as though they're here to stay,
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Suddenly,
I'm not half the man I used to be,
There's a shadow hanging over me,
Oh, yesterday came suddenly.

Why she
Had to go I don't know, she wouldn't say.
I said,
Something wrong, now I long for yesterday.

Yesterday,
Love was such an easy game to play,
Now I need a place to hide away,
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Why she
Had to go I don't know, she wouldn't say.
I said,
Something wrong, now I long for yesterday.

Yesterday,
Love was such an easy game to play,
Now I need a place to hide away,
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

SeekingHGA you will be missed on these forums, if you do leave us, particularly by me.
And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

So would I. But, I do not think that he is leaving us, SWM. He has started a thread on "goodbyes"...Goodbye as in anything...your sorrow, your pain, your memory, etc

Well, seekinghga?

One of my favorite sayings is "Ceasar is dead, long live Ceasar".

In this case, I mean that I'm sorry if seekinghga is saying goodbye, but I hope he has someone to say hello to :-)

At least we don't have to read any more bad prose.

To alleviate any doubt, THIS IS my final post (I swear, I won't even look).  Look at the voodoo scientist.  That's where I was headed.  That's what happens when someone supplants genius with their own Ego.  Genius is from without, not within (how you take that statement depends on where you are at).  It can manifest through us, but is not born of us.  If biological processes could produce genius then why aren't their genius cats or genius cacti?  Want inspiration?

Ego breeds competition. Competition breeds progress.

I like Voodoo.  He's like seekingha, but with more personality.

Indeed!seekinghga is way much 'deeper' than voodoo(who loves to make generalised statements; if you go 'deeper', he starts on definitions including the English language definitions)

seekinghga has a much better and complex personality. comparing him to voodoo is like comparing 'diamond' to 'stone'. Please give me a break. Anyway, it is just my opinion.

Sad to lose seekinghga, the one and only! :'(

Ego can also result in greed or self deception. Selflessness can lead to enlightenment.

i would agree with that. greed and selfishness lead to seperateness, exclusivity and isolation. the delsusion of the self and others as seperate and unrelated objects.

Us lowly peons of psychologyforums.us are too uncouth and uneducated for liza's erudite tastes.  I'm sure she got an invite to the MENSA forum or something.

The signal to noise ratio around here is improving one bad poster at a time. These are good times.

Actually Liza123 decided to devote her time and attention to other things because she has very little free time, she had to make a choice as to what to give priority to. I will miss her input. Even though I may not always agree with everyone here I do find it interesting to read what they have to say. It takes different colors to make a rainbow.
