why should psychology rule the world?
« on: February 27, 2009, 12:52:18 PM »
I am looking for an answer to this question.Something that can be summed upp into a paragraph,a famous quote maybe.I don't need a log list of why psychology is bettor than psychiatry or the all the recent studies confirming this.I am tired of looking for the answer to this simple question,it is nothing you can just google, and searched many forums looking for someone who must of asked this before.A brief explanation, that should just be posted on all psychology forums. Thanks for reading and I hope you have what I'm looking for.

There is a problem with your question. "Why should psychology rule the world?" The question is asking for the reason that psychology should rule the world. This question contains the pre-supposition that psychology should rule the world.

We could of course think of this question as a metaphorical or rhetorical question. But then we need a context inwhich to understand the metaphor or rthetoric.

The other implied question in your opening post may lead us to a more interesting discussion.

The question is: Treating people with mental illness, is psychology or psychiatry most effective in treating psychological disorders.
