Twilight People?
« on: September 30, 2009, 04:40:49 AM »
Greetings,

Are there really "twilight people" ... those who have a special affinity for the times of dawn and dusk ... the twilight times between day and night?

I consider myself a "twilight person."  Are there others out there I wonder?

Thanks.

Yes.

Care to elaborate?  Are you a "twilight person"?

Thanks

if your defining a "twilight person" as someone who prefers night time to day time... I believe thats not uncommon.

Actually, I define a "twilight person" as neither a "day person" or a "night person" per se ... but as one who relates to the fleeting  "in-between time" of  dawn and dusk ... i.e. half-light (or twi-light).

Is there a psychological or medical term for this preference?  Have studies been done on this?

I've always found dawn and dusk to be my favorite times of day.  If I had to choose between two, it would be dusk.  BTW, I define dusk as the hour starting at sunset and dawn as the hour preceding sunrise.  Technically, I believe this is called "civil twilight."

Thanks.

I'm a night person, but I really like dusk.  Dawn is cool too when I'm up for it.

I like to play bass more than guitar... is there a psychological or medical term describing that preference? or am i a "bass person"  ::)

All sarcasm aside... i dont know that enjoying dusk or dawn is a significant enough feeling to warrant its own medical terminology. Though i could be wrong... not trying to pee in your cornflakes or anything... i would find it interesting if i were to be wrong.
