Stockholm Syndrome etc
« on: December 21, 2009, 01:19:09 PM »
I'm new to this-so apologies if this isn't the most appropriate place to post this question.
Stockholm syndrome is where captives develop an attachment to their captors and Lima syndrome is where the captors develop an attachment to their captives, but is there a name for the situation where persons develop an attachment to their "rescuers"-beyond that which would be considered to be normal appreciation?

It's called Florence Nightingale effect. It's mostly about psychological transference and can go both ways.
