Repressed Memories
« on: July 13, 2008, 03:06:53 PM »
I was wondering if anyone here is aware of repressed memories?

In my case, I've recalled some events that seems strange now looking back, but didn't at the time. I wonder if that's a form of repression?

I've heard of repressed memories but I don't have any. But I wonder if all the repressed memories people have are really true of they were somehow suggested to the person.

You hear how some people suddenly say they have repressed memories of their parents abusing them or some other terrible even that happened and then, through therapy, they discover that the memories aren't true.

I think the meaning that those memories have for you and the situations surrounding them but also the situations around the time the memories where recovered would help you to understand them.

Would you be able to say any more about them?
