It talked about an article by Herald Sun; staring at the following .gif image,
do you see the dancer rotating clockwise or counter-clockwise?



If you see her rotating clockwise, it means that you're right-brained;
If you see her rotating counter-clockwise, you're left-brained.

I see the girl rotating counter -clockwise which means that I am left-brained ,right  ?
How do you explain then that according to this test(click here) I am 35 % left brained and 65 % right -brained   ?

This is weird, I am not sure what it means but when i first saw that test above of the spinning girl I dont see here spinning clock wise or anticlockwise she is not spinning in the dirtetion of a clock. She is going from her right to her left across her front. No clockways that i can make out.

So I just looked at the test in your link and I cannot answer any of the questions, well I could answer but then it would not really be true, I would be half lying half telling the truth.

I think this means I DONT HAVE A BRAIN

This test drives me crazy, There ar tow answer that I can answer properly,

Q11 I am not mathematic at all.

But these are opposites still one is for left brains and one is for right.

There is a lot of stuff on it, things that I need, some things that I dont need, but the desk is not total mess and it is not in any shape or form organised.

Well, this is the problem the first thing that come to my head is, "I cannot choose between them". Same for all the questions except those two above that I answer. I believe i am neither one nor the other, or i am both in equal measures. I wonder if there is a test for that?

For a person with a normally functioning brain there is no such thing as "left" or "right" brained.

The idea that a person can be left or right brain dominant was actually adopted from research on patients who had their corpus collosum severed, usually due to grand mal seizures. The idea was born from poor research review by media persons. The corpus collosum connects the two hemispheres of your brain. It is true that various functions are centralized in one hemisphere of the brain, however, they often have a complimentary component in the other half. Unless your corpus collosum is severed or you are a special case, you cannot use one half of the brain without using the other as well.

The spinning girl is merely an optical illusion that results with silhouettes. Our brains use certain visual cues to interpret movement and spatial orientation but they are in fact interpretations of what it is really occurring and not necessarily accurate.

Right or felt brain dominant means 60% use of left brain and 40 % right ...or 59 % right brain and 49 % left !
or some other combination , however NOT  100 % and 0 % .
Do you really think that all people in the world use equally right and left brain , like 50 %with 50 %?

How could you explain then when a person gets a Nobel Prize in physics and another one in literature ,for instant ?

Hey, I made this girl spin the opposite way.

It was by accident I came to view the latest post to this topic and I scrolled up to check out the spinning girl I noticed that she was spinning the popposite way to the way I see her usually. I thought it was odd and it also dispelled my suspiscion that it is just an animated gif that does not change.

I scrolled down again read the last post and then scrolled back up, the girl was spinning in the direction that she span for me the first time I seen her. I have been concentrating really hard to make her turn back the other way but the best i could get was a bit of a wobble from her. hehe. lol

That quiz says im mostly right brained but the description isnt very accurate. Id agree im mostly right brained to an extent but the results from the quiz said left brained people are good at communicating with words and prefer dogs (both are a huge part of who i am). It also says right brained people prefer sports, which isnt true to me at all.

However, i am no good at logic, or maths, and i like philosophy which are generally true for right brained people.

However Ellion's test results for me are  40% Left and 60% right,

I can't, for the life of me, make her go counter clockwise!!!  Last night she did for just a brief moment but turned the other way and I haven't been able to make her go back.  LOL

When i first looked at it it was clockwise but then it was anticlockwise and than it was clockwise and then anti and then i figured out how to make it switch. All you have to do is imagine her leg is infront of her other leg when it looks like to you that her leg is behind her leg because since it is a shadow when her legs are infront of eachother the leg that is spinning could be infront or behind her other leg it just depends how you look at it. I even figured out how to make it go both ways at once by making it switch inbetween clockwise and counter clockwise so fast she was going neither way.

I guess this means im both? I took a different test on which half is my dominant and it said i am 51% right and 50%left, but those percentages don't add up to 100%

Clockwise, and the Left-Hemisphere is brain dominated, and Right-Hemisphere dominated allows one to use the faculty of intuition, which is Spiritual in nature.

To attempt to use ones brain to evaluate or "think" about intuition and the Right-Hemisphere  will naturally skew the result and miss the Esoteric nature of intuition.

I see the figure revolving clockwise, and then glance away and back again and see the figure revolving counter-clockwise.

Anyone who is actually "dominant" Left-Hemisphere will be involved in intellectualism as his/her primary means of relating to life.  That person who is Right-Hemisphere dominant will have an easy access to "intuition" and via it, Conscience, Discretion, Knowledge and Empathetic Understanding.  Those who have undergone a personal course of competently facilitated psychotherapy will have access to, and make use of both hemispheres.

I see clockwise sometimes, and counterclockwise sometimes. From the descriptions given, it seems fairly accurate. I do think that most people seem to see them each close to equally. I think it would be very unusual for someone to lean all the way to one side or the other.
