"Thank You" button
« on: March 13, 2009, 02:02:38 AM »
How about a "Thank You" option. If you see a comment you like you can click on a "Thank You" button. It's like giving a person props. It's an easy way to make people feel good. :) They have it on the philosophy forum I use and it's very effective. Especially if there is a long thread of replies and someone says something very useful, or says what you wanted to say, then you can quickly thank them!  I came across a situation today where I wanted to do that.

i think that can be arranged.

there is also a karma system on the forum where members can give each other karma. it is similar to thank you only becomes part of the user profile and not specific to one post.
And the  LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as  one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

i have just checked the karma system it is working but members need to have made 50 post before they can give good or bad karma points.

What about those of us that don't believe in karma, but desperately so in good works?  Just kiddin'.  Whatever the thing- huge fan of givin' folk credit for being cool.  :)

Corwin, you should be able to use the karma system. there are applaud and smite links underneath each members avatar to the left of the posts.

Mmm... smiting.  Gotta have some power somewhere.

Of course, I'm too afraid someone won't like me to smite 'em, still carrying around a laundry list of character defects with me.  Ha ha.
